Hi!
Thanks for visiting our Website! We are the founders of 'Live Poets Society' and would like to introduce ourselves and our concept here. We are students from the State International School in Seeheim, Germany, and all share a common interest in poetry. However, we have noticed that poetry is often considered uncool or that presenting it is very intimidating nowadays, especially among young authors. We have therefore decided that we wanted to encourage student poets to indulge in poetry writing and lose their fear of presenting. As a part of this project we founded our poetry committee and have already hosted one successful Poetry Slam and are planning to host many more in the future. We realised that this way we could only reach young poets in our area, so we decided that as an expansion to our project we wanted to create a poetry website.

Our concept, like our non-competition style Poetry Slam, is to provide a space for young and old poets to share their works without pressure and exchange ideas and feedback in a safe, comfortable space. We have therefore also disabled visitors commenting on poetry entries, and members can only comment if you as an author have set your privacy policies so.

We hope this forum will be a success and that it will provide a space for everyone to share and enjoy each other's poetry. We understand that poetry is a very sensitive topic and therefore also asked everyone to handle each other's poems with care.
